Kisan Baburao Hazare ..First time I heard this name from Mr Manish Tewari. I knew anna is not name but tag and kishan hazare is called as anna hazare by people out of their love and respect. Mr Manish tewari had none. Neither love for 74 year old anti corruption crusader nor respect for what he stands for.
To be fair with Manish , he was just following orders of high command who is Mr Rahul Gandhi and his team in absence of sonia gandhi. Being Spokes person of congress it is his responsibility to convey stands of his party and his attempt to make anna look immoral in front of people of India was part of his job.
Needless to say that his attempt failed miserably. How can people trust spokes person of a party which is notoriously famous for corruption?. Indira gandhi of congress is first prime minister who was found to have misused state machinery for her own elections by high court. She was also accused of bribing voters!!!!!!!!
Rajiv gandhi too was found getting messed up in bofors . Though nothing could be proven in Rajiv's case.Narshima Rao was accused of buying shibu soren and his associates to safe guard government.UPA-2 is biggest of them all. Its capacity to churn out one scam is unparalleled in modern history of India.
Now spokes person of party with such a phenomenal record of corruption accusing a MAN who has been fighting corruption since last 25 years!!!!!!!!!. Does it make sense?. Well it was but obvious such allegations would fall apart which it did.
Then congress led upa-2 did what they do the best. Taking leaf from Indira gandhi , they sent police to stop anna . They manage to get anna behind bars in tihar jail in judicial custody. To give company to anna , upa-2 has raja , kanimozhi and congress's kalmadi !!!!!!
But bigger question is why government doesnot care?. Why government is so arrogant and so indifferent?. Why government doesnot seem to be worried ?
Answer perhaps lies in following three points
1) UPA Has No Political Competition Right Now :
In spite of one after another scam coming to light , all major surveys show that upa would still manage to get maximum seats if election happens right now.
BJP and Left have failed to make impact on people and inspite of inflation,corruption and low image of government , congress led upa sees no competition to itself right now.
2) Vote Bank Doesnot seem to be impacted :
Granted DMK lost elections but upa-2 sees itself capable in getting votes from traditional vote banks. The anna wave is still to touch villages where 70% of India stays. Secondly people may seemed to be united when protest against corruption is concerned but when it comes to voting , people get divided in lines of religion , caste.
3) Civil Society Wont Stand For Elections :
No Matter how much anna wave hits , civil society wont stand for elections. Now this is what I feel must get changed. Civil society with likes of abdul kalam,narayan murthy , anna hazare,kiran bedi,prashant bhushan must contest elections.
Together they can give much better alternative and government which India deserves. Time for anna to enter politics has arrived and he must take steps towards it. Be in the system to change the system...
